Nature Photography Meetup

Nature Photography Meetup

Saturday 07 June
Downtown Sarasota - 9am - 2 Hours
Sarasota Photography Group
Stephanie Leaver
Join this session for tips on how to use your camera settings to creatively capture nature in a visually interesting way. We will be looking at composition, focus, and colour.

Many professional offices and places of business have large prints gracing their wall space of things such as fields of flowers, a butterfly perched on a leaf, and a single dew drop on a rose petal. These beautiful images are all around us in nature. It just takes that special "eye" to not only see it but to capture it in a way that will turn that simple little piece of nature into a beautiful piece of art. We will learn how to use different angles, light and shadows, and settings to make subjects pop.

It's important to note that I primarily work abstractly, however I am academically trained. I'm available sporadically as I work non-traditional hours full time. I am often available Sunday afternoons or Mondays, and occasionally Wednesdays mid-day. I focus on the student's needs and cater to each individually.

After more than 40 years away from painting, I took a leap?backpacking with a travel watercolour set, capturing moments in photos when I didn?t yet have the courage to paint. Now, as summer nears, I?m revisiting that journey with paint. This was the first. Still learning, still experimenting?but I?m pleased with how the light and shade found their way in.

Hi, my name is Jessi. I grew up in the Sacramento area, and have moved around to other states and back a few times. I took up watercolors about a year and a half ago or so after my mother-in-law gifted me a set of watercolor paints. At first I was intimidated by the medium, because I had never been successful with watercolor in the past, but chose to give them a go again since I had them, and found that this time was much different than before. I found a new passion for the medium, and am always

This painting began as a watercolor over ten years ago after attending a workshop in Maine on Pemoquid Point. I found it in my ?Starts Stash? about a month ago and decided to finish it using Acrylics because of some major changes to the face and other areas. The painting captures my memories of that trip, such as:- enjoying lots of lobster and fish- painting- sunny days - the ocean- walks on the pier near the lobster shacks- painting every dayI thoroughly enjoyed working on thi
